Spring Creek Mine prohibition notice lifted

The Department of Labour (DoL) today lifted its Prohibition Notice on the underground operations at Spring Creek Mine near Greymouth.

The company says the Inspectorate is now satisfied with the company's response to the incidents.

Despite the DoL notice being lifted, the mine will not immediately resume full underground operations. The company is still completing its own internal investigations. Until the investigations and any subsequent actions are completed, operations will not recommence.
